M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Good Grades’ Starts Shooting, Stars Josh Hartnett [Updated]

October 25, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

UPDATE: It looks as though Josh Hartnett stars in the film. “Good Grades” is said to be the same film that Shyamalan was shooting earlier in the summer (“Trap”) before it had to pause its production due to the strike.

EARLIER: A video has leaked online indicating that M. Night Shyamalan’s “Good Grades” has started production in Ontario (Canada).

Now, don’t call Shyamalan a “scab”, he has a SAG-interim agreement to shoot this film. He mostly finances his own projects, so this exemption does make sense. There are no plot details as of this time. The cast hasn’t been announced either.

This past February, Shyamalan released “Knock at the Cabin,” it was met with decent reviews. Shyamalan doesn’t really get great reviews anymore. However, he does still have a fair amount of fans. The Cahiers du Cinéma love him — they actually raved about his last five movies.

Here’s a question, not counting his first four films (“The Sixth Sense,” Unbreakable,” “Signs” and “The Village”) What’s been the best movie Shyamalan has made in these last 20 years? This is what he’s released since 2006: “The Lady in the Water,” “The Happening,” “The Last Airbender,” “After Earth,” “The Visit,” “Split,” “Glass,” “Old,” and “Knock at the Cabin.”
