That list looks like our top five for Best Picture as well.
No James Cameron (Avatar: The Way of Water), Sarah Polley (Women Talking), Baz Luhrmann (Elvis), Ruben Ostlund (Triangle of Sadness), SS Rajamouli (RRR), Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front) and Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Woman King).
Of course, Clayton Davis is making a big fuss over there being no women nominated in the top category.
In the first time directing nominees list, they mistakenly nominated Audrey Diwan (Happening) even though this wasn’t her first film. She will probably be taken out. Either they leave it at four nominees or replace her with another filmmaker.
Quiver, a tiny specialty distributor that makes even Vertical and Briarcliffe look behemoth, has picked up U.S. distribution of the long-delayed film from fellow micro-indie Blue Fox.
