Woody Allen’s 50th and Final Film Set to Star Isabelle Huppert?

September 18, 2022 Jordan Ruimy

A few interesting tidbits about Woody Allen’s last film, set to shoot in Paris in a couple of weeks.

We have absolutely no idea who will be part of the French cast. However, a French outlet is reporting that, although most of the hired actors have been kept secret, Isabelle Huppert is rumored to star in “WASP 22,” which is a WORKING TITLE that the media ran with — “Woody Allen Summer Project “22.”

They go on to state that the film will have a budget of $10 million, and that the project dates back to 2020 and had sadly been pushed back because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Huppert has made it known numerous times that she wants to work with Allen. Back in 2017, Huppert voiced her desire to work with the filmmaker in an interview.

“There’s not much time left. He’s not young anymore. I know him well. You need a certain context. I heard he’s going to make a film in France soon. Besides, he does so many of them. Frankly, what would it cost him to make one with me? Vite fait, bien fait. It’s really not a big deal. He doesn’t know what he is missing”

Back in 2019, she expressed anger at the US backlash against Allen, pointing out how “violent” and “excessive” the hate has been towards him, adding “Who wouldn't want to shoot a film with Woody Allen?"

Will Vittorio Storaro be back as the DP? I sure hope so. He’s had a fruitful working relationship with Allen for almost 10 years now. Allen’s films have looked absolutely gorgeous since Storaro started collaborating with him.
