I’m set to rewatch Jordan Peele’s “Nope” this afternoon. I can’t say I’m ecstatic about it, but some readers here are pushing me to give it another shot.
What did I miss the first time around? It’s a considerably well-made and ambitious sci-fi epic with very strange pacing and probably one of the best UFO designs I’ve ever seen on-screen.
French critics seem enamoured by Peele’s film. “Nope” is being released in France today and the AlloCine score is a very impressive, 4.2 with 19 critics already counted.
“Nope” is set to cross $100 million domestically this week, it’s Peele’s third film in a row to attain that mark, albeit, it likely won’t come close to the $175 million both “Get Out” and “Us” amassed.
