I figure many readers have or will catch Jordan Peele’s “Nope” over the weekend. Getting a B CinemaScore is definitely nothing to brag home about.
Peele’s film is now projected to make around $40-45 million this weekend. Whether you liked it or not, it’s definitely one of the few movies this summer that feels like a major event for cinephiles.

NOTE: Peele has revealed that his first cut of the film was nearly four hours, which, if you have seen the finished product, completely makes sense. There are some major narrative and tonal inconsistencies throughout the theatrical version of “Nope.”
