Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Now Aiming For December Release

June 26, 2022 Jordan Ruimy

After the disappointing news that “Poor Things,” “Asteroid City,” “The Zone of Interest,” and (possibly) “Disappointment Blvd” were bumped to the 2023 movie itinerary, here comes something actually positive about this movie year.

After embarking on additional shooting, and rumors appearing that it might get delayed to 2023, Apple is now pretty confident that Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” will be released later this year, most likely in December.

I was assured by a person working on the film that it is indeed a 2022 release. Delaying it to next year would just complicate things for this film, which wrapped its original production in October of 2021.

‘Flower Moon’ Screenwriter Eric Roth did an FYC interview for “Dune” back in February, but also spoke at length about Scorsese’s film, which he had said was “being released in November” and that “Marty is well on his way to getting the editing done.” This was before the announcement of additional shooting.

Regardless, a December release does suit the film better since November will already have Spielberg unveiling “The Fablemans.”
