Alex Garland’s ‘Men’ Gets a D+ CinemaScore

May 22, 2022 Jordan Ruimy

American audiences are really hating Alex Garland’s “Men.” Of course, it’s not as bad as moviegoers purport it to be, nor is it as good as his best films.

All of this to say that Cinemascore’s exit polling has audiences rating “Men” a D+ which is an absolutely brutal grade for the usually very-easy-to-please CS audience.

I gather the total ire for this movie comes from the last 20 minutes, which is when the film, purposely, turns into an incoherent mindfuck. Garland doesn’t give a shit what the audience thinks and it’s clearly reflecting in that CS score.
