The Sundance Film Festival announced today that their 2023 edition will take place as a hybrid festival in Park City, Utah from January 19-29.
Next year’s festival program will be both online and in-person. The past two editions of the fully virtual Sundance Film Festival were fantastic experiences, and saw a coming together of movie fans online that felt wholly unique.
Sundance had its first ever Best Picture winner in March when “CODA” won the big prize. They’ve seen the positive effects that an online festival can bring, especially when it comes to record-breaking ticket sales.
