Sofia Coppola’s ‘Priscilla’ Starts Production, On-Set Photos Leak

October 25, 2022 Jordan Ruimy

Some photos have leaked from the set of Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla.” They show Elvis and Priscilla Presley, husband and wife, strolling outdoors.

The film is based on the memoir “Elvis and Me” by Priscilla Presley. It stars Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi as Priscilla and Elvis. Production started just a few days ago in Toronto.

Born Priscilla Ann Wagner in 1945, she was 14 when she met then-24-year-old Elvis during his military service in Germany. They ended up getting married I 1967, and had one daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.

A24 will distribute “Priscilla”. Coppola will reteam with her longtime collaborators, including Cinematographer Philippe Le Sourd, and Editor Sarah Flack.

We were the first to report on this project last month. If the dates stick then production is set go on until December 2nd. Coppola’s last film was 2020’s “On the Rocks,” and, before that one,” 2017’s “The Beguiled,” which won her the Best Director prize at Cannes. For my money, her best films are still her first three (“The Virgin Suicides,” “Lost in Translation,” and “Marie Antoinette”).
