Take it with a grain of salt, but last night’s official premiere screening of Adam McKay’s “Don’t Look Up” went over VERY WELL with the audience. So, why the skepticism? Because critics won’t actually get to see the film until tonight’s 7pm PST screening in Los Angeles. I’m predicting similar Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes scores to “Vice,” which means mixed-to-positive reviews and a whole bunch of Oscar nominations. McKay is very well loved by the Academy, he knows a lot of important people in the industry and this film’s star studded cast and messaging is too irresistible for AMPAS voters to resist. I’m set to get a full review reaction from tonight’s screening around 1AM EST.
