‘Honest Thief': Liam Neeson Said He Was Retiring From Action Movies, That Was a Lie [Trailer]

July 31, 2020 Jordan Ruimy

Three years ago, Liam Neeson stated he was quitting the action genre. Now, three years later, and two action movies later (“The Commuter,” and “Cold Pursuit”) Neeson is back, yet again, exposing his “particular set of skills” for an upcoming action-thriller titled “Honest Thief.”

In his latest genre film, Neeson plays a former thief forced to return to doing what he does best: robbing banks. You see, Neeson’s thief, ridiculously called the “in and out bandit,” stole $9 million from several banks, his identity never revealed, but, of course, everything changed when he fell in love and decided to come clean and confess all of his crimes to get a fresh and new start. Sadly, that’s when the backstabbing and double-crossings begin.

At this point, the “Taken” formula has been so severely overused that you don’t even need to know what a new Liam Neeson movie will be about - you just get what you pay for and in “Honest Thief” fans will be getting exactly what they want from the Irish-born actor.

The film was written and directed by Mark Williams co-creator of “Ozark”), it also stars Kate Walsh, Anthony Ramos,  Jai Courtney, Robert Patrick, Jeffrey Donovan, and Jasmine Cephas Jones.

Watch the trailer below:

Wanting to lead an honest life, a notorious bank robber (Liam Neeson) turns himself in, only to be double-crossed by two ruthless FBI agents.
