Quentin Tarantino Says ‘The Social Network' Was the Best Movie of the 2010s

May 28, 2020 Jordan Ruimy

Back in January, Quentin Tarantino had mentioned that Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” was his second-best film of the 2010s. However, the famous filmmaker of such great films as “Pulp Fiction” and “Jackie Brown” wouldn’t reveal what his #1 movie of the decade was,. This all left us wondering, for months, actually almost 6 of them, when his top pick would be known.

In a new interview with Premiere (via The Playlist), Tarantino called David Fincher’s 2010 Facebook movie “The Social Network" the best movie of the decade, adding that its screenwriter, Aaron Sorkin, was “the greatest active dialogist.”

Tarantino’s full quote:

“It’s ‘The Social Network,’ hands down. It is number one because it’s the best, that’s all! It crushes all the competition.”

“The Social Network” ranked #5 on World Of Reel’s industry poll of the best films of the 2010s, published last May. Fincher’s film was a major statement on the advent of social media, and our unhealthy, selfish obsession with “friending”, self-image, which ultimately led to a lack of human-to-human connection in the post-Facebook world.
