It has been a very strange year for movies, with most of the major films expected to have been released in 2020 having been delayed as a result of the coronavirus crisis.
Movies such as the latest in the James Bond franchise, No Time To Die, have been pushed back and there have been no major superhero movies for several months either.
This is an ideal chance to look back at some of the most successful franchises that are based on movies, so let's take a look.
Marvel Cinematic Universe
With 23 films already released - and a lot more on the way - the Marvel Cinematic Universe is up there with the most successful movie franchises of all time.
It is easy to forget there was a lot of skepticism back when the original Iron Man film came out, with film fans unsure how it would work with the various Avengers all linking up.
But comic book lovers have lapped it up, with the MCU responsible for a string of massive box office hits, as well as inspiring a vast array of merchandise.
