Oscars: 89 Countries Vying For Best International Feature

The Best International Feature Oscar race is starting to take shape. Previously known as Best Foreign Language Film, the category this year has plenty of contenders vying for the final five spots. EW assembled a full list of the 90 films submitted to the Academy for Best International Feature consideration this year (a shortlist of 10 finalists will be announced in December, while the final five nominees will be revealed on Monday, Jan. 13). I have narrowed that list down to 18 likeliest contenders. Right now, my five frontrunners are “Atlantics,” “Parasite,” “Pain and Glory,” “Les Misérables,” and “Beanpole.”
