‘Knives Out' Trailer: Rian Johnson's Whodunnit Stars A-List Cast.

July 2, 2019 Jordan Ruimy

When you're director Rian Johnson you can probably make any movie you damn well want.. After all, despite the backlash from some fans, Johnson's "The Last Jedi," which was coming off his visionary sci-fi "Looper," was critically acclaimed, confirmed his ever-growing talents as a writer-director, and impressed Disney so damn much that they decided to give him sole authority of an entirely brand new upcoming Star Wars trilogy.  We also realize that 'Jedi' and 'Solo' had problematic box-office numbers, and that Disney head Bob Iger has confirmed they are “slowing” down the process of releasing more movies post-Episode IX. so, with all that being said, what is Johnson to do in the meantime? How about make an original movie.

His upcoming murder-mystery is titled "Knives Out" and it sounds incredibly promising. Oh, and look at that cast! Michael Shannon, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, and Lakeith Stanfield. Wowza!

The film is supposed to be a modern-day whodunit, an Agatha Christie-inspired mystery film, that Johnson has been working on for the better part of 10 years now. Stanfield and Craig are the detectives on the case.

It all sounds uber fantastic and, I can confirm, according to a valid source of mine, that the film may very well be skipping fall festivals all together. Lionsgate believes in the word of mouth this one can generate with advanced screenings later this October.

“Knives Out” will be in theaters on November 27. Watch the first official trailer below.
