Lauren Shuler Donner, a producer and longtime mentor of Kevin Feige’s, has been part of the Fox’s X-men Franchise since the very beginning in 2000. However, don’t ask her about the last three films because, In a now since deleted tweet, she wants nothing to do with them.
Yes, Donner apparently tweeted that she had nothing to do with the last three X-Men fiascoes (“Dark Phoenix,” “X-Men: Apocalypse,” or “The New Mutants.”).Rumors have indeed pointed to "Dark Phoenix” director and longtime writer of the Franchise, Simon Kinberg pushing Donner out of the X-world.
Given Donner’s connections with Feige, I wouldn’t be surprised if she is reinstated for the upcoming versions by Marvel and Disney. There is no date for those but you can bet they will be total reboots.
Zeller’s feature debut, “The Father,” was an acclaimed and Oscar-winning film. Many believe he struck out with his sophomore effort, 2022’s critically maligned “The Son.” This is another miss.
