Fantasia Film Festival Announces First Wave Titles

June 3, 2019 Jordan Ruimy

I absolutely adore Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival, which happens to be North America’s largest genre festival. Celebrating its 23rd edition this year, the festival has announced its first wave of titles which will include world premiere’s for Malik Bader‘s “Killerman,” starring Liam Hemsworth and Emory Cohen, and a “Critters” movie? You heard me right, the first Critters  movie since the ‘80s, titled “Critters Attack!” will premiere at the Montreal fest.

The announced titles also include Cannes hit “The Gangster, The Cop and The Devil” and Lupita Nyong’o Sundance zombie comedy “Little Monsters,”

However, the personal highlight for me will be a 45th anniversary screening of Brian DePalma’s wicked 1974 satire “Phantom of the Paradise,” with producer Edward R. Pressman on-hand to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award on Saturday, July 13.

Many more titles and premieres are set to be announced, so stay tuned. The Fantasia International Film Festival happens in Montreal July 11 – August 1 2019. [Official Fantasia site.]
