Bong Joon-ho’s ‘Parasite’ Trailer: Palme d’Or Winner Being Released in October

August 14, 2019 Jordan Ruimy

You can just tell that Bong Joon-ho’s “Parasite” will do very well at the box-office come its October release in the U.S. Forget about the fact that it won the Palme d’Or; Bong’s fanbase has been growing with every movie (“The Host,” “Okja,” “Snowpiercer”), and “Parasite” is the culmination of everything he’s worked on, every theme and every genre blended into a unique entity. Did I like the movie as much as my fellow cohorts? I stand by my assertion that “Parasite” “feels like Kore-eda on steroids,” but I will be giving this fascinating movie another go-around when it screens during the fall fests in September. In the meantime, NEON has officially slated the film for release on October 11th, an Oscar-friendly date, with the clear intention of nabbing a Foreign Language Oscar nomination .. oh, and we now have a trailer.

Act like you own the place. #Parasite is in US Theaters October 11. Bong Joon Ho brings his singular mastery home to Korea in this pitch-black modern fairytale. Meet the Park Family: the picture of aspirational wealth. And the Kim Family, rich in street smarts but not much else.
