‘Gemini Man' is a Major Bomb, Has Lost More than $75 Million So Far

October 23, 2019 Jordan Ruimy

Paramount has been completely lost since the implosion of the ‘Transformers’ franchise. When you realize they also distributed the first ‘Iron Man’ movies and that they could've bought Marvel Studios in 2008, a year before Disney, well, it gets depressing to even think about that.

The Will Smith-starring doppelganger movie “Gemini Man” has spent close to $100 million just in marketing costs. A THR report talks about hope from Sony that its release in China would help the movie out, but that didn’t happen, the film opened in second place this past weekend, behind “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.” This brings us back to the film’s worldwide tally, which is now at $118.7 million, well below the reported production budget of $138 million.

The end result, as THR reports, is a box office bomb, with “Gemini Man” already losing close to $75 million so far and that number will no doubt grow in the weeks to come as the film continues to plummet down the box-office rankings.

And so, Will Smith’s rotten streak continues. He’s made bomb after bomb this decade, a horrifying last 10 years for the talented actor, yes, he can act (watch “Ali,” “Enemy of the State,” “I Am Legend”); Just look at the below graph for all the junk he’s given us this decade:
