Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”Is revving up its engines for a scheduled-to-begin early 2020 production date. We already know that Robert Pattinson is set to play the caped crusader, following in the footsteps of Ben Affleck, Christian Bale and Michael Keaton.
We can now confirm that Paul Dano has been added to the cast to play The Riddler, Batman’s arch nemesis, previously tackled by Jim Carey in 1995’s “Batman Forever.“ [via THR] Jonah Hill was reportedly eyeing the role, but was unable to come to terms on a deal with Warner Bros.
Dano is best known as a character actor whose work in such films as “There Will Be Blood,” “Little Miss Sunshine,” “12 Years a Slave,” ”Prisoners,” and “Swiss Army Man” received critical acclaim.
“The Batman” will be released on June 25, 2021.
