Actress Ruby Rose has quit Twitter.
I didn't know much about Rose until this weekend's release of the shark attack flick "The Meg." I didn't know either that Rose, an outspoken member of LGBTQ, was to play Batwoman in an upcoming CW series, as part of their Arrowverse TV universe.
What I don't understand is how the casting of Rose managed to be about her sexuality on Twitter. Did they not realize she was a lesbian? Or was she not lesbian enough for them? To some, the fact that Rose isn't even Jewish, Batwoman Kate Kane is a Lesbian of Jewish descent, is a problem:I didn't know much about Rose until this weekend's release of the shark attack flick "The Meg." Not only does ruby rose not identify as a lesbian but she’s not Jewish either. In her open letter to THR, about why she had to quit Twitter, Rose has this to say:
“Where on earth did ‘Ruby is not a lesbian therefore she can’t be batwoman’ come from — has to be the funniest most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read. I came out at 12? And have for the past 5 years had to deal with ‘she’s too gay’ how do y’all flip it like that? I didn’t change. I wish we would all support each other and our journeys.

But hey/ love a challenge I just wish women and the LGBT community supported each other more, My wish was we were all a little kinder and more supportive of each other…Sending everyone my love and gratitude, it’s been a rollercoaster of a year, this month especially."
