‘Gladiator II' on VOD December 24 — One Month After Theatrical Release

Here comes news that Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II” has set up a December 24 VOD date — just four weeks after the film was released in theaters. That’s the new normal. Studios just can’t help themselves in trying to reap the monetary benefits that come with the sped-up digital release market. What this does is water down the theatrical experience.

‘Kraven' Makes $2M in Thursday Previews; Projected $13M-$15M Weekend

“Kraven the Hunter,” the latest — and final — entry in Sony’s Spider-Man villain universe, racked up $2M in Thursday previews. The $110M costing movie is now set to bomb with a $13M-$15M opening — the projected weekend tally would be lower than Sony’s much-ridiculed “Madame Web” (via Variety).
