The film follows a burned-out former baseball player (Austin Butler) who is plunged into a wild fight for survival in the downtown criminal underworld of ‘90s NYC. Sounds like something the Safdies would concoct.

Snyder's next film, which isn't planned at Netflix, will be set in the world of UFC. Zach Baylin (“King Richard”) co-wrote the screenplay with Snyder. It’s planned as a theatrical film, with the UFC (including its president, Dana White) being directly involved. 

“The Nanny” star Fran Drescher, known for her nasally, raspy, high-pitched voice, has joined the cast of Josh Safdie’s ping pong movie. She will be playing the mother of Timothée Chalamet’s character.

Martin Scorsese was supposed to shoot this documentary in the summer, but things were delayed. I thought it might meet the same fate as his recently “postponed” Sinatra and Jesus movies, but that is clearly not the case.

Info keeps trickling in about Sam Mendes’ ‘Beatles’ movies which, if we were to believe Production List, has set up a July 2025 shoot in London. Prep work is definitely under way and I wouldn’t be surprised if we get casting news very shortly.
