Back in June, there were some rumors spreading that Lucasfilm’s Rey movie, potentially titled “New Jedi Order,” was going to be shooting in September. I shot down those rumors by simply saying NO CHANCE.

Puck’s Matt Belloni is reporting that Penske-owned Variety has been pitching studios on “a series of intimate, curated dinners” with Golden Globe voters. The trade is quite literally pimping the Globes for their Penske overlords.

Paramount’s “Apartment 7A,” a “Rosemary’s Baby” prequel about the woman who died outside the apartment when Rosemary moved in, just had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest.

The 72nd San Sebastian Film Festival is set to open tonight with Audrey Diwan’s "Emmanuelle." The film had been rejected by Cannes and Venice before finally settling for the splashy San Sebastian opener slot.

Here’s some semi-concerning news about Matt Reeves’ “The Batman: Part II,” which is supposed to be shooting in early 2025. Reeves tells Collider that DP Greig Fraser’s presence on the sequel remains a question mark.

The film was shot on an iPhone 15. ‘28 Years’ cost $75M to produce which makes it the priciest film ever to be shot on an iPhone. Boyle is joined by his go-to cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle (Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later, Trainspotting, 127 Hours).

It looks like Francis Lawrence has dropped out as director of the upcoming Sublime biopic. Lawrence is now officially busy making another ‘Hunger Games’ movie, and has been replaced by indie helmer Justin Cho (“Blue Bayou,” “Gook,” “Ms. Purple”)

If you’re wondering what Sean Durkin has been cooking after “The Iron Claw,” he’s supposedly hopped on-board HBO’s “Lanterns,” and will be directing a “handful” of episodes for the limited series.

I wasn’t sure about the status of Solondz’s next project, “Love Child,” starring Elizabeth Olsen, and earlier in the year we had learned about a potential shoot in the summer. That clearly hadn’t materialized. What gives?

Variety’s Clayton Davis is reporting that Karla Sofía Gascón (“Emilia Perez”) will officially be campaigned as Lead Actress for the Oscars. Gascón’s co-stars, Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana, will be pushed in the Supporting Actress category.

Last fall, A24 hopped onboard Song’s next project. I had originally reported that her sophomore effort would be the romcom “Materialists.” The film wrapped its NYC production in June and had screened for a select few last night.

This cult following of the first film has allowed Entertainment One to greenlight a sequel, it’s called “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera,” and much of the cast is back for this one, including Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr.
