THR is projecting a $30-35 million opening for “The Fall Guy.” The $140 million costing film is set to kick off the summer movie season this coming Friday. Its stars, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, have been promoting the hell out of this film. Reviews have been good, not including mine, but THR adds that “it will need some long legs to recoup its budget.”

Costner is going for broke with this passion project, which he self-funded by, among other things, selling his 10-acre Oceanfront Santa Barbara property. He’s supposed to shoot parts 3 and 4 this summer in Southern Utah.
