Disney’s “Freaky Friday”, released in 2003, has amassed a big following over the years. So much so that there’s been fan demand for a sequel. It might actually be coming very soon.

This is all very surprising given that I didn’t think Zendaya had it in her to deliver something this ferocious. She’s mostly dabbled in fine performances, but in “Challengers” she just ups her game.

Alex Garland’s film, starring Kirsten Dunst as a photojournalist, added $11.12 million this weekend. It has, so far, grossed $45 million. A24’s most expensive movie to date additionally made $5 million overseas.

On Saturday, actors Heather Donahue, Michael Williams, and Joshua Leonard released a joint statement, directed at Lionsgate, asking for retroactive and future residual payments for their roles in the original film.

The Cannes Film Festival has unveiled the official poster for its 77th edition, which is set to take place on May 14-25, and it’s a tribute to Akira Kurosawa’s 1991 film “Rhapsody in August.”

George Miller’s “Furiosa” is set to premiere at Cannes next month. The highly anticipated ‘Mad Max’ prequel is on the cover of this month’s Empire Magazine, and there are some very interesting nuggets inside this issue.
