After numerous delays, due to last year’s strikes, “A Complete Unknown,” the Bob Dylan biopic from James Mangold, will finally start production in New Jersey this coming March and continue through May.

Oscar-winner Wes Anderson has begun production on his next film, “The Phoenician Scheme, in Germany. They’re going to be shooting this one until April. It’ll most likely pop up next year.

Puck’s Matt Belloni is reporting that Nolan recently began writing his next film. Obviously, no plot details were revealed. As with all Nolans, it’ll most likely be kept hush-hush until the very end.

Just when we thought we were done with Ava DuVernay and “Origin,” comes more drama .. The X account for the film is complaining that they weren’t invited to Neon’s Oscar afterparty last night.

Last year around 19 million people watched the Oscars. This year’s telecast moved up an hour to 7pm, was driven by ‘Barbenheimer’ hype and only managed to bring in 19.5 million viewers— slightly better numbers.

Yesterday’s Variety report claiming “The Holdovers” screenwriters David Hemingson and Alexander Payne plagiarized Simon Stephenson’s Blacklist script, “Frisco,” scene-for-scene, “line-by-line,” certainly surprised many.

“Kung Fu Panda 4” debuted at #1 at the box-office with an estimated $58.3 million domestic take this weekend (from 4,035 locations). It’s the best opening of the franchise since the 2008 original ($60 million).

Animation on the sequel will begin soon, with the team currently storyboarding and working on set designs. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic will return to direct.

The rumor du jour, which is about to spread like wildfire after this post, is that comedian Shane Gillis might have landed the lead role in Quentin Tarantino’s final film.
