Steven Spielberg Offered Justine Triet to Write A Film for Him

March 11, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

After winning the Palme d’Or, and the Original Screenplay Oscar, the French duo of Justine Triet and Arthur Harari, co-writers on “Anatomy of A Fall,” are now being courted by Hollywood heavyweights.

One of the film's producers told RTL that Triet is “in demand by all of Hollywood […] She is courted by absolutely all professions, producers, actors, actresses, screenwriters…” says Marie-Ange Luciani , co-producer of the film with David Thion.

She added, “[Steven] Spielberg met Arthur and Justine, he loved the film, he even offered them to write a film for him. ” Triet and Harari confirmed their producer's comments at the Oscar red carpet last night. Here’s Triet, in her own words …

Steven Spielberg was surreal, Arthur ended up next to him at the table at the Oscars luncheon, and they talked for an hour. It turns out he wanted us to meet, and he offered us to write a script for him, it's the most absurd thing we've ever experienced."

This isn’t the only offer Triet has gotten. Last month, in an interview with French magazine L'OBs, Triet confirmed that she’d been offered to direct an adaptation of Daniel Clowes' graphic novel “Monica," with Cate Blanchett in the title role. However, the French filmmaker added that she still hasn’t made up her mind about accepting to helm it.
