Soon-Yi defends Woody Allen, says Mia Farrow abused her

September 17, 2018 Jordan Ruimy
Soon-Yi, Woody Allen

A Soon-Yi Previn interview, courtesy of Vulture, has Woody Allen's wife of 30-odd years defending her husband. Suffice to say, it didn't please Ronan Farrow as Mia Farrow's son immediately rebutted with his own statement. Jesus Ronan, let her speak.

Soon-Yi admits in the interview that "what's happened to Woody is so upsetting, so unjust." She's, of course, referring to accusations by Allen's adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, that she molested by her father back in the early '90s.

Soon-Yi accuses her adoptive mother, Mia Farrow, of being behind the molestation claims, saying "[Mia] has taken advantage of the #MeToo movement and paraded Dylan as a victim. And a whole new generation is hearing about it when they shouldn't."

Soon-Yi accuses Mia of slapping and spanking her and calling her "stupid" and "moronic." and adding that "It's hard for someone to imagine a pleasant memory" of her time with Mia.

Ronan Farrow soon after released a statement defending his mother: "I owe everything I am to Mia Farrow. She is a devoted mom who went through hell for her family, all while creating a loving home for us."

Ronan and Dylan's brother Moses Farrow has vehemently defended their dad Woody over the years saying “My mother [Mia Farrow] drummed it into me to hate my father for tearing apart the family and sexually molesting my sister, and I hated him for her for years. I see now that this was a vengeful way to pay him back for falling in love with Soon-Yi.” However, Ronan Farrow, a reputable journalist, who helped uncover the Harvey Weinstein scandal for The New Yorker a few months ago (and signed a three-year deal this week with HBO to head up investigative documentaries), stands by his assertions that sexual abuse did happen. It’s a polarizing and infuriating scandal and the noise around it is not about to quell anytime soon.

If you are the kind of person that is open-minded and would rather inform his or herself rather than be lazy and just trust fake news, then, please, by all means, read Robert Weide's excellent dissections of Allen vs Farrow which were posted on 12.13.17, 5.30.16, and, most recently, 1.14.18.

While we're at it, there's always been the rumor that Ronan Farrow isn't even Woody's son and that she had an affair with Frank Sinatra. Not far-fetched, with a few witnesses claiming that to be the case. The facial similarities are there.
