“Saltburn” is Emerald Fennell’s upcoming thriller starring Rosamund Pike, Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi and Carey Mulligan. It test-screened yesterday in Culver City, California and reactions have been wildly positive.
If you remember, Fennell directed the Sundance sensation, “Promising Young Woman,” in 2020. She went on to win a Best Original Screenplay Oscar, but was also nominated for Best Picture and Best Director. Obviously, her follow-up comes with high expectations.
Those expectations seem to have been met last night, with some saying the film felt like “The Talented Mr. Ripley.” Filmed last summer, “Saltburn” is about a grand, aristocratic English family and is a story of obsession. I’ll have more as details start to trickle in…
Still no distributor for "Bucking Fastard," "Alpha Gang," "The Last Photograph," "Closing Night," and "The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd." The issue seems to be quality more than a lack of willingness to buy.
