‘Avengers: Infinity War' tops IMDB's 20 best-rated movies of 2018 with a user rating of 8.5

The IMDB's user rating system tends to give a decent indication as to what general mainstream audiences like and don't like in their movies. Again, the key word here is "mainstream" because you will not find a film like "Avengers: Infinity War" topping any critics ten best lists in the next few weeks and months to come. However, the Marvel film, and second-to-last installment for the fourth MCU phase, has, by all accounts, towered over the rest of 2018's movie releases when it comes to IMDB user ratings. Despite a general consensus of mixed to somewhat positive reviews, 'Infinity War' garnered an impressive 8.5 score based on more than half a million votes.  "Black Panther," a Marvel film that actually garnered some of the best reviews of the year, was ranked as the 20th best rated movie with a 7.4 score out of 414,000 ratings.

"Green Book" is on pace to crack this list, with an 8.2 rating out of just 2000 votes, the film is destined to be one of the most well-loved films of the year. As it widens its release in the coming weeks, look for it to contend. Of course, things could change in the final weeks of the year as "Aquaman," "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," "Mary Poppins Returns," "Vice," and many more are set for release.

1) Avengers: Infinity War 8.5 (524k votes)
