Back in March, it was announced that Jonathan Majors was set to film his “comeback vehicle” — an untitled action movie backed by Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire.
Yes, this is the same movie where Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne accidentally fell through a window during filming in South Carolina. The incident became a flashpoint for crew complaints about alleged unsafe working conditions, which reportedly included falling props, inadequate safety meetings, and concerns about mold and possible asbestos exposure. More than half the crew allegedly went on strike over safety and labor concerns.
Well, things have gotten more interesting in regard to this film. If Armie Hammer recently decided that the best comeback vehicle for him was an anti-Islamic rape-gang movie directed by Uwe Boll, then Majors’ comeback vehicle isn’t far off from that vibe either.
According to Page Six Hollywood, “liberal heads will explode” once they hear what this $5M movie is about. The film was originally described as featuring “American warriors rising with unbreakable grit and unrelenting firepower to defend the homeland when threats strike at its heart.”
It’s a little more complicated than that.
The film, titled “Run Hide Fight: Infidels,” is actually about “radical Islamic terrorists” who surround a liberal college’s pro-Palestine encampment to enforce “barbaric Sharia law” on students and execute infidels. The heroes? A ragtag band of red-blooded students, a security guard tired of “Uncle Tom” smears, and a Delta Force vet (Majors). They all must “arm up” to save their clueless peers and keep America from surrendering to the enemy on its own soil.
The film’s trailer (which you can watch here) is clearly designed to amplify today’s culture wars and the divisions surrounding Israel-Gaza.
It begins with a rapid-fire montage of terror footage, from a 9/11 jet piercing the World Trade Center to an ISIS beheading, as well as college campus unrest and footage of Secretary of State Marco Rubio(!). It ends on the quad of a sleepy Virginia campus as the call to prayer rings out and an ISIS flag billows atop a pole. The students (terrorists?) stop what they’re doing, drop a prayer mat and orient themselves toward Mecca. The trailer cuts to the tagline: “Coming soon… Or already here.” We’re guessing this is a dry campus.
The film’s producer, Dallas Sonnier, didn’t hold back when asked by Page Six what he hoped to accomplish with the film.
Sonnier said: “The woke mind virus has captured Hollywood for the past 12 years, and while woke is winding down, there is a new obsession with the anti-Israel, pro-Palestine movement that deserves to be mocked in a movie again.”
He added: “If you’re afraid to put radical jihadis as your villains, then you’re a wimpy movie producer. We don’t have that fear.”
“Run Hide Fight: Infidels,” directed by Kyle Rankin, will launch on The Daily Wire’s streaming platform this fall.
