There’s still no Cannes jury announced. President Park Chan-wook surely can’t select the Palme d’Or all by himself, right? A few weeks ago, we had Showbiz411’s Roger Friedman hinting that Demi Moore and Jacob Elordi have been asked to be part of this year’s jury. Nothing else has leaked.
Now, another name that’s being floated around right now is Chloe Zhao, director of “Nomadland” and “The Rider.” She was already a jury member at the Venice Film Festival in 2021, which had been presided over by Bong Joon Ho. This time around, her team leader would be Park.
As for when it’ll be officially announced, everything points to early next week—it’s hard to imagine it coming any later, since that would mean revealing it during the festival itself, which kicks off in just 11 days. It’ll be intriguing to see which other names have been selected to pick this year’s Palme d’Or.
