“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has, quite easily, become the biggest trailer of all time in 24 hours, according to Sony. The studio says the trailer nabbed 718.6 million views since its online premiere on Wednesday.
In fact, it just took eight hours to top previous record-holder Deadpool & Wolverine’s 365 million views from 2024, and even then, that number also included the 100-plus million who watched the Super Bowl ad. In other words, ‘Brand New Day’ obliterated the previous record.
It’s been five years since a live-action “Spider-Man” movie has been released theatrically, but it remains one of the most popular IPs in Hollywood, and with the last one, ‘No Way Home,’ having hit the $1.9 billion mark during the pandemic, one can certainly argue that ‘Brand New Day’ could not just match that number, but ultimately surpass it when it hits theaters on July 31.
