Paul Greengrass has been very busy of late. Last year, he released “The Lost Bus” for Apple, his first film since 2020, which earned positive reviews, but no Oscar buzz. He’s also shot a 14th century epic, “The Uprising,” starring Andrew Garfield, set for the upcoming fall fests.
Now, here’s another project (via Deadline), set to shoot during Q4 2026, titled “Test Drive,” and which has been set up via 20th Century. The studio actually bought the script in fall 2024 from writer Matt Venne. Plot details remain under wraps.
Greengrass reinvigorated modern action cinema through the Bourne series (‘Supremacy,’ ‘Ultimatum’), pioneering a jittery, handheld style that reshaped Hollywood. He’s also had a few misfires (“Green Zone”), but his strongest films—“United 93,” “Bloody Sunday,” “Captain Phillips”—are gripping, real-life dramas. Here’s hoping his next few belong with the latter.
