Steven Spielberg's ‘Disclosure Day' Releases New Trailer

March 12, 2026 Jordan Ruimy

Here’s the new trailer for Steven Spielberg’s “Disclosure Day,” a film that could either disappoint or exceed expectations. At this point, it’s hard to know which way it will go.

Of the three trailers released so far, this one’s easily the best one, the most connected to Spielberg’s style, laying the ground for the story the filmmaker will tell in this his latest film.

The film appears to center on the hidden presence of aliens among us, but the trailer teases plenty of strange moments. Colin Firth’s character seems determined to keep this secret, using advanced technology connected to his mind to communicate remotely, even as his eyes change color. His actions suggest he fears revealing the truth could disrupt the world order.

Emily Blunt’s character, meanwhile, is caught between eerie behaviors—like the ticking noise she makes while reading the weather—and her mission to expose the truth. Josh O’Connor’s character, central to the revelation effort, claims he can understand her strange sounds. The trailer hints at thriller elements, childhood memories, and tense escapes, culminating in a glimpse of what appears to be an alien spaceship breaking through the clouds.

The ensemble cast includes Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes, with Steven Spielberg crafting the film’s original sci-fi concept alongside longtime collaborator and screenwriter David Koepp (“Jurassic Park”).

Ever since 2008’s “War of the Worlds,” Steven Spielberg has largely stayed away from sci-fi, only returning once with “Ready Player One”—just a single film in 17 years. Spielberg has mostly focused on prestige dramas, including “Lincoln,” “Bridge of Spies,” “War Horse,” “The Post,” and “The Fabelmans.”

“Disclosure Day” is set to release in theaters on June 12 via Universal Pictures.
