Adam Rehmeier's Next Film Is ‘Seeker,’ a Ride-Share Mystery-Thriller With ‘Obsession’ Star Cooper Tomlinson

November 4, 2026 Jordan Ruimy

For the uninitiated, here's a quick catch-up on Adam Rehmeier's last few films. He has lined up his follow-up to "Carolina Caroline," which is going out to buyers next week.

Per Deadline, Rehmeier will direct "Seeker," a mystery-thriller from an original script by Michael Learner. Cooper Tomlinson, fresh off Curry Barker's "Obsession," leads opposite Jessica Rothe ("Happy Death Day") and Mika Abdalla ("Off Campus").

The premise fits Rehmeier well. Tomlinson plays Grant, whose fiancée, Caroline (Abdalla), disappeared without explanation five years ago. He now drives for a ride-share app, and one night he picks up a passenger he's certain was responsible for her disappearance. According to the logline, what begins as a cat-and-mouse game turns into something stranger, more disturbing and "unhinged."

"Seeker" brings together three rising actors. Tomlinson's next project is "Anything But Ghosts" for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Spooky and Focus, which he co-wrote with Barker. Rothe stars in Universal/Blumhouse's "River," the major acquisition out of TIFF 2026, and Abdalla broke out on Prime Video's "Off Campus," which set viewing records.

Rehmeier has spent over 10 years making unclassifiable little American movies that consistently fly under the radar. He made the punk-rock cult movie "Dinner in America" in 2020 and the coming-of-age comedy "Snack Shack" in 2024, both well worth seeking out.

"Carolina Caroline," released this year, also went largely unseen. It's a nifty romantic crime thriller, with Samara Weaving as a rural Texas gas station attendant and Kyle Gallner as the con man she runs off with.

"Seeker" is already fully financed, with Hammerstone Studios and Script 2 Screen backing it. The shoot is planned for January 2027 in Washington State, and more casting is underway.
