‘Jackass 5' Confirmed; Coming to Theaters June 26

January 8, 2026 Jordan Ruimy

Johnny Knoxville, 54, is still a punk at heart, and he’s apparently completed a new ‘Jackass’ movie that will be released wide in theaters on June 26 via Paramount.

Knoxville had teased that something was forthcoming in an Instagram post, and Variety has since confirmed that it is indeed “Jackass 5.”

The caption reads: “Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer ‘Jackass’ is back!! We will see you in theatres June 26th. More to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!!”

No word yet on the director, but I’ve always wanted Spike Jonze — a longtime “Jackass” collaborator — to helm one of these. Chances are Jeff Tremaine will return for “Jackass 5,” having directed the first four films in the franchise.

The last instalment, released in 2021 and titled “Jackass Forever,” featured Knoxville memorably getting gored by a bull and later knocked out cold during a slapstick cannon stunt. Steve-O was pierced in the face with needles and endured scorpion and bee attacks directly to his mouth. Chris Pontius played naked human pinball, while Dave England vomited and humiliated himself. In other words, just another day at the office for these idiots.

I’m a fan. “Jackass Number Two” (2006) was probably the best film in the franchise — the sweet spot where the crew had a bigger budget, and absolutely zero restraint, with stunts that were at their most dangerous, painful, and unhinged. That said, “Jackass 3D” often comes in a close second.

You can mock these movies all you want, but they are not boring. In fact, shoot me, “Jackass” is art — a modern version of the physical-comedy tradition of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, built on bodies in motion, timing, and real physical risk. It’s pure spectacle of pain and endurance,
