More casting on David Fincher’s “The Adventures of Cliff Booth.” While Netflix has still not confirmed the project, the film is understood to be very much happening.
Back in May, I reported that Fincher was looking to cast the role of a Filipino mobster and film financier by the name of Bill Vergara. Well, it looks like he’s found his guy. Deadline reports that JB Tadena — best known for CW’s “Kung Fu” — has been cast in ‘Cliff Booth.’ The trade says it’s an “undisclosed role,” but in all likelihood, Tadena, who is the son of Filipino immigrants, is playing Vergara.
Tadena joins a cast that already includes Pitt, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Elizabeth Debicki, and Scott Caan — an eclectic mix suggesting Fincher’s vision for this project may not be your typical Tarantino knockoff. Still no word yet on who the cinematographer will be on the film, although it’s highly likely that it’ll be Fincher regular Erik Messerschmidt.
‘Cliff Booth’ is reportedly planning a very ambitious shoot. The current schedule has production due to start on July 28, 2025 and leaking all the way to December. The film is scripted by Quentin Tarantino, and the story picks up where his ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ left off, following Pitt’s enigmatic stuntman, who is now a Hollywood “fixer.”
