It’s not looking good for “Bride Hard.” Rebel Wilson returns to wedding territory — again — in what sounds like a low-rent mashup of “Bridesmaids” and “Die Hard” (yes, really).
Described as a “high-concept” action-comedy, the movie has Rebel Wilson playing a bridesmaid who just so happens to be a secret agent. When the wedding she’s attending is hijacked by a group of armed terrorists, she springs into action to save the day.
The supporting cast doesn’t seem to be the issue: Anna Chlumsky and Anna Camp are in it, and even Justin Hartley shows up. And yet, the film sits at 15 on Metacritic, and 25% on Rotten Tomatoes. Expect this to show up on numerous “worst of 2025” lists. Razzies are also in its future.
Simon West directed it. Yes, that Simon West — the guy behind “Con Air,” his only good film, “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,” and a long string of bad action movies. Fun fact: 25% isn’t even his career low. He’s had films hit zero. A few under 20. The man has range, but the wrong kind.
