Last month, Deadline reported that singer-turned-actress Charli XCX was in talks to play the White Witch in Greta Gerwig’s ‘Narnia’ for Netflix. However, TheInSneider is pouring some cold water on that rumor, and claiming that Charli XCX is no longer in the running.
According to Sneider, Gerwig now plans to test three actresses for the role of Jadis— the White Witch. Two of the names that have leaked are Margaret Qualley (“The Substance”) and Emma Mackey (“Sex Education”), with the third actress currently unknown.
Production on Gerwig’s adaptation of ‘The Magician’s Nephew’ is slated to kick off in July at Shepperton Studios in the UK, although the White Witch likely won’t be needed on set until August. As of now, Netflix has yet to confirm any casting or production details.
