Jonathan Majors to Star in ‘True Threat’

March 26, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

Here comes another potential B-movie project for Jonathan Majors whose long-delayed “Magazine Dreams” was released this past weekend and only managed to earn $700k at the box office.

According to Deadline, Majors is set to star in “True Threat.” The actor will play Special Forces operative “Vernon Threat” as he embarks on a relentless quest for justice after his teenage son is murdered by a Harlem gang.

Gerard McMurray directs “True Threat” from a screenplay he co-wrote with Hodge K. Johnson. The film is said to feature 52 Blocks, a Black American martial arts style yet to be included in a major motion picture.

No word yet on whether this will be Majors’ next film. He also has Martin Villeneuve’s “Merciless,” a sci-fi thriller that I previously reported might have hit a roadblock in post-production.

Just a few weeks ago, the rehabilitation phase of Majors’ career was in full throttle via a fawning THR interview that rubbed many people the wrong way. In it, Michael B. Jordan revealed that he wanted Majors to star in his upcoming “Creed IV.”

However, things got a tad more complicated a few days after the THR interview, that’s when Rolling Stone published recently unearthed audio of Majors admitting to strangling his ex-girlfriend.

Yes, things are looking rough these days for Majors who was fired as Kang in the MCU, and a personal letter to Marvel head Feige didn’t seem to improve anything as the actor recently admitted he never got a reply back from Feige.

Majors’ once-promising career was derailed after having been convicted of reckless assault and harassment in December. He was sentenced to a 52-week, in-person domestic violence intervention program in April. The case, which had been extensively reported on, for many months, involved an altercation Majors had with his ex-girlfriend in March of 2023.
