Karla Sofía Gascón: “I’m Less Racist Than Gandhi”

March 21, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

This morning, Karla Sofía Gascón decided to hold a press conference in Madrid (via El Mundo) and the result turned out to be quite something. Apparently, the “Emilia Perez” star used to fight skinheads.

“They’ve said that I’m far-right or racist or whatever,” Gascón says. “But if there’s one thing I’ve done all my life, it’s that I’ve been against all this. When I was young, I used to fight with skinheads … When someone comes up to me and I ask them: ‘But what is it about me that offends you?’, no one can come up with anything or tell me anything.”

Oh, and Gascón believes to be an absolute saint, describing the controversial tweets as having been taken out of context, and far “less racist than Gandhi.”

No one has to forgive me for anything. If anyone feels offended by things I've done in my life, they can come and tell me. I’m less racist than Gandhi.

This is all in promotion for Gascón‘s upcoming autobiography, “What’s Left of Me.” A memoir, of sorts, that attempts damage control on all of the bad PR thrown during awards season. When did Gascón even have the time to write the book? Nobody really knows.

Gascón claims to be the victim of a deliberate smear campaign during awards season, adding that it was odd that someone had pored over tweets that went all the way back to 2016.

“It’s clear that there was a campaign against me and that they kept going until they got what they were after,” Gascón added.

Gascón was recently forced to apologize for old tweets which defended Hitler, insulted Muslims, George Floyd, Chinese people, and the 2021 “Afro-Korean” Oscars. The apology released tried to paint Gascón as also being part of the “marginalized” group of people she insulted. After all, she once fought skinheads!
