Razzies: ‘Madame Web’ Nabs Worst Picture, Coppola Accepts Worst Director For ‘Megalopolis’

February 28, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

Ok fine, I’ll tackle them. After a few readers emailed me this story, and this being a slow day for writing, here are the 2025 Razzie winners.

Much to the shock of absolutely nobody, “Madame Web” led Razzie nominees this year with three wins, including Worst Picture. The catastrophic Sony extravaganza beat out “Megalopolis,” “Borderlands,” “Joker: Folie á Deux” and “Reagan”

Things got worse for “Madame Web” as the film “won” Worst Screenplay and Dakota Johnson was crowned Worst Actress. No word yet on whether Johnson will attend the Razzie ceremony tomorrow afternoon to accept her trophy. I wouldn’t put it past her.

As reported earlier, Francis Ford Coppola won Worst Director for “Megalopolis.” Yes, the filmmaker behind “Apocalypse Now” and “The Godfather” is now a Razzie recipient. Jon Voight, whose boner steals the show in “Megalopolis,” nabbed the Worst Supporting Actor Razzie.

Unfrosted” collected Worst Actor for Jerry Seinfeld‘s performance, with Amy Schumer picking up Worst Supporting Actress for her work on that film. Quite honestly, it’s not the terrible movie that the Raspberry committee indicates it to be — an amusing and self deprecating trifle.

As for $200M bomb “Joker: Folie á Deux,” it was named Worst Sequel and Joaquin Phoenix/Lady Gaga shared the Worst Screen Combo prize. There were far worse films released in 2024, but the Razzies, staying true to their reputation, decided to stick with the herd this time again.

Remember, this is the same group that infamously nominated Stanley Kubrick as 1980’s Worst Director for “The Shining.” Brian De Palma also got Worst Director nods for “Dressed to Kill,” “Body Double,” and “Scarface.” Oh, and let’s not forget Ennio Morricone’s WORST FILM SCORE nomination for “The Thing.”
