Noah Hawley Set to Direct ‘Nowhere Fast’ — Chris Pine to Star

February 18, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

Noah Hawley, a wizard of episodic television, struck out with his drowsy film debut, 2019’s “Lucy in the Sky,” starring Natalie Portman — it failed with critics and audiences.

Hawley, not one to be knocked out for long, has decided to give cinema another shot. Variety is reporting that his sophomore directorial effort will be “Nowhere Fast,” a Chris Pine starring thriller.

The film, written and directed by Hawley, follows a small-town criminal in Texas who inadvertently kills the nephew of his boss. Additional casting on “Nowhere Fast” is currently underway.

Hawley created the acclaimed FX series “Fargo” and “Legion” and most recently directed the upcoming “Alien: Earth.” He’s known as a genius of television, but he’s now trying, yet again, to conquer cinema.
