Sounds like Alejandro González Iñárritu’s “Judy,” starring Tom Cruise, will have a 60-second trailer/teaser attached to “Avatar: Fire and Ash” screenings. Yes, that seems to be the official title of the film—or at least that’s what it’s going by in internal trailer sheets from numerous exhibitors.
Given the length, I doubt much plot will be revealed about this mysterious film, but it’ll likely be our very first look at Cruise’s first auteur role in eons. He’s taking a break from action movies to star in “Judy,” which has been described as “a new kind of film” by its director.
How many big trailers will play ahead of “Fire and Ash”? That we know of, there’s already “Judy,” “The Odyssey,” “Disclosure Day,” and “Avengers: Doomsday.” Can they actually fit any others? “Fire and Ash” clocks in at a whopping 3 hours 14 minutes; add in movie ads, and you’re looking at a near four-hour experience.
