WGA Nominees Include ‘Hit Man,' ‘Civil War' and ‘Challengers'

The Writers Guild of America nominations have been announced.

Screenplays for “A Real Pain,” “Anora,” “Dune: Part II,” “A Complete Unknown,” “Wicked,” and “Nickel Boys” were all featured among the nominees. Surprises included “Challengers,” “Hit Man,” “Civil War,” and “My Old Ass.”

Meanwhile, it should be noted many Oscar contending films were deemed ineligible by the WGA including “The Brutalist,” “Sing Sing,” “A Different Man,” “Dídi,” “Hard Truths,” “His Three Daughters,” “The Seed of the Sacred Fig,” and “The Substance.” They were either not written by guild members or under a WGA collective bargaining agreement.

WGA members will now be voting on these nominees until Monday, January 27. The 2025 WGA Awards will be held on Saturday, February 15 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
