I’m looking at the latest tracking numbers for “Twisters” and they don’t look good. Right now, Lee Isaac-Chung’s film is set to open anywhere between $35M-$40M next weekend. The budget for this one is said be around $200M. Of course, we’re still three days away from Thursday previews, and Universal’s marketing machine will go on overdrive these next 72 hours. Stay tuned.
Netflix and Skydance Animation have also called it quits. The two sides announced Monday that they're ending the animated film deal struck back in 2023, framing it as a mutual decision.
