A quick update on Steve McQueen’s “Blitz.” The film was screened in NYC and London — these were “private” with only a handful of carefully selected number of critics invited.
We already knew it was ready — its PG-13 MPA rating confirmed it — but it does look as though Apple is trying to gauge the opinion of a few pundits to decide what to do with this one. I’ve already reported on the film having not yet been submitted to Venice or Telluride.
A person who attended tells me that the reception, based on the people they spoke to, was “mostly positive.” Still, no trailer, image or poster has yet to be revealed for the film. Apple also has no distributor signed up to release it in theaters. The streamer is said to be aiming for a late November theatrical date (11.22.24).
