Harmony Korine's ‘Aggro Dr1ft' Sets Theatrical Run

April 9, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

After touring strip clubs, Harmony Korine’s “Aggro Dr1ft” will finally get a proper theatrical run. The film will have a one-week run, from May 10-16, in numerous States across the country.

Korine’s film will screen at independent theaters across nearly 20 key locations nationwide: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, Portland, Raleigh, San Francisco, and Washington DC.

I wasn’t entirely sure what Korine’s plans were as far as distributing his indescribable film — it seems like it’s now found some kind of plan. As mentioned, “Aggro Dr1ft” was on an “experimental tour,” which included strip club screenings. It was a peculiar way to screen the film, but, then again, Korine has never really adhered to mainstream thinking.

So, with that in mind, the first trailer for “Aggro Dr1ft,” a film about gangsters, strippers, prostitutes, assassins, and horned demons, all shot in infrared, was released last January. Some moments in this film do actually leave you in a trance, while others bewilder. More thoughts here.
